Why is it so busy?

Many online stores offer high discounts around Black Friday (November 29), leading to an increase in orders. On the busiest days after Black Friday, we expect to deliver 2 times as many parcels. We are prepared for this. There may be occasions when we have to deliver more than expected, which could mean that your parcels take a bit longer to arrive. Check out the PostNL app to see if this applies to you.

Where is my parcel?

We strive to deliver your parcel the next working day, but sometimes this is not possible. In track & trace, you might see different messages:

  • Your parcel is (almost) with PostNL.
During busy periods, it may happen that we have not yet scanned your parcel. In track & trace, it will then show that your parcel is (almost) with us. As soon as we start processing your parcel, you will receive new updates in track & trace. We advise you to wait for these updates.
  • Unknown Delivery Time
Some delayed parcels are still awaiting delivery. In track & trace, it will show that the delivery time is unknown. We understand this can be confusing. As soon as we start to deliver your parcel, you will receive a new notification. Therefore, we advise you to wait a few more days.

How do you prepare for the parcel rush?

We are fully committed to delivering your parcel as quickly as possible. Therefore, we have taken several steps to prepare for the busy period:

  • We have opened 4 extra parcel sorting centers in The Netherlands and 1 in Belgium.
  • We start sorting earlier and continue later in our sorting centers.
  • Online stores are collaborating with us to better spread the workload.
  • We are adding numerous extra trips to our daily delivery routes.

Sometimes your parcel might still take longer to arrive. We understand this is inconvenient and will deliver your parcel as soon as possible.
